Our quality translation steps
Getting a quote and accepting it
When a client brings in his task to be handled by NBT, it is either faxed or e-mailed to us. This maintains the quality of the document and it reaches us in the same quality the client has it in. When an email is confirmed, we work on the quote and let our client know how much it would cost to translate such a document. The pricing is done on the basis of per word calculation, which is a technique to keep the prices low. Else wise, some companies might even charge you per document or per hour and the translation would cost much more. This is where the difference begins to show. We make sure that the client is satisfied with our prices as well as the terms and conditions which will apply to the procedure. All your additional queries are also sorted out, this why our project managers stay online.
Selecting the best translator
After the task is confirmed by the client, all requirements are fetched and collected. The project manager decides which translator would handle the translation. The best translator is chosen who is particularly specialized and experienced in such a task. Experience and competency are one of the key points which are looked into while handling such a business. This is what matters the most to have an effective and accurate translation. This is done right after the confirmation of the task so that time is saved and work is started without wasting a moment. A translator who can be the best for a certain task is the one who is fluent in both the source language and the target language. Preferably a translator who is native to the language is given away the task.
Ensuring proper communication
From the moment a client comes in to discuss the translation and confirms the translation after the quote is accepted and satisfactory to him, the task is looked into by the same project manager who handled it at first. This is how the concentration and attention are inured fully to one task at a time. We have a huge team which works on many projects going on at the same time in the company. But each project is given separate attention and a separate team is entrusted with separate tasks. We also provide a live-chat feature which the client can use 24/7 in order to stay in touch with us during the translation. The translators are also able to get in touch with the client if they have additional questions about the project.
Actual translation work
After the translation task is assigned to the translator the proper work and analysis is done by the translator, the project manager plans out the activity and the way the task is to be carried out. Human skill is what matters the most in translation. A machine or a tool cannot reach 100% accuracy. This means that each word is translated thoroughly and the complexity and accuracy are kept in mind. Phrase by phrase is being translated with utmost attention to details. Software and tools are only being used where layouts and the look of the document matters. You however have the option to have us use computer assisted translation tools in order to save money.
Proofreading and editing
When a translation has been completed by the translator it is sent to a proofreader. This proofreader is another translator with same capabilities as the first translator who actually checks the translation against the source document. This makes sure that there are no errors in translation or if any material can be improved or changed. This adds some 20% to the time it takes to complete a project. Then the task is sent to an editor who works on the layout and outlook of the document if needed. Depending on the complexity of the task, this adds 25-30% to the total time we need for the task, but this phase makes sure you will receive the document in the same layout it was sent to us.
Final checks and delivery
Later when the editor is done with his part of the task, the document is sent back to the team. Here the document is compiled again and the format is checked. The document is reverted to the same environment and format of the original document and finally is ready for delivery. The document is then emailed back to the client while the payment was already received before the task started.
There is also a difference in paying invoice according to the need of the document. If the task is lengthy the sometimes full payment is taken before the task is started. In other cases, partial payments are received and hence the leftover payment is mean to be delivered right at this point.
Evaluation and dialogue with the client
This is the last of our quality translation steps we take with each and every job. When our client receives the document that was translated, it is made sure that they have enough time to review the document fully. We make sure there is no problem in the document from our end, but if anything in the document is improper or not according to the first discussed or set plan, it is always taken back. Conditions apply to it. The document must be reviewed within the given time. The changes to be made should match the budget. If the requirements are met fully, we will certainly work furthermore on your document till satisfaction of the client is achieved.
Those are our quality translation steps, it is how we work and make sure that our clients are satisfied. Out of everything that we learn what matters the most is delivering the promises with perfection and achieving the happiness of our clients. We always look forward to our clients who return to us for more work. We are at your service!
